About William Alec Tisdall, MD

A caring medical practitioner, William Alec Tisdall, MD, owns and operates a pain management clinic in San Antonio from which he provides minimally invasive and clinically proven treatments for a wide range of conditions. Practicing since 2007, William Alec Tisdall, MD, offers many of the most recent advances in pain medicine, such as radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, and sacroiliac joint steroid injections. Outside of the office, he directs the surgical program at Stone Oak General Surgery, located in northern San Antonio.

At his practice, Dr. Tisdall treats chronic and non-chronic aches and pains originating in or affecting the back, neck, shoulders, and knees. He and his highly trained staff also offer effective solutions for pain associated with arthritis, post-surgery recovery, failed-back syndrome, and complex regional pain syndrome. Dr. Tisdall consults at length with all his patients on their goals in receiving pain management and he educates them on the best interventional and medical treatment options. He and his staff also develop individualized care plans that address patients’ lifestyles, specialty needs, and short- and long-term objectives. As a result of Dr. Tisdall’s focus on delivering personalized treatment, he has received two Compassionate Physician Awards and two Patients’ Choice Awards in recent years.

Before moving to San Antonio to establish his practice, Dr. Tisdall fulfilled a residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in interventional spinal pain management at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. Earning magna cum laude honors, he completed his undergraduate education in business administration at Western Washington University. During his free time, William Alec Tisdall, MD, enjoys running and snowboarding, among other activities.
